Hyères 35

International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories in Hyères.

For the past 35 years, this unique event has been celebrating young talent, providing an annual gathering for journalists, designers and artists. American Vintage is supporting the festival once again, and will be at the Villa Noailles for the 2020 edition, taking place from 15 to 18 October 2020.

The brand selected the winner of the American Vintage Photography Award and led a silkscreen printing workshop.

The American Vintage
Photography Award

For the past three editions, American Vintage has unearthed up-and-coming photography talents by presenting one of ten finalists with the American Vintage Photography Award.

The first winner, Luis Alberto Rodriguez now shoots for Virgil Abloh, Wales Bonner and Gucci. In 2018, the touching photos of Sarah Mei Herman earned her the award, before going on to exhibitions in Amsterdam and Athens. She was followed by French photographer Hubert Crabières and his colourful world, somewhere between poetry and ultra-realism.

Like their predecessors, the 2020 winner of the American Vintage Photography Award will take home a financial grant and shoot a series of photos for the brand. Their work will then be exhibited in select stores and at the next edition of the Festival.

Andràs Ladocsi

This year, the American Vintage Photography Award was won by Hungarian Andràs Ladocsi.

This curious artist observes the world, looking for the perfect gesture, the perfect moment of honesty. Natural light fills his pictures, giving them a sense of softness. His works are something between naturalism and realism, reassuring and delighting viewers, as well as throwing them off balance.
